Demolition began last Monday on the old Sykes building located on Rector and Mitchell Sts.

If you believe the rumors, they may be possibly clear the location for the coming of Trader Joes. Just kidding, everyone knows that that great franchise is going to be put into the old Gary Barbara Dodgeland. And of course, everyone knows about the bidding war between book selling giants Barnes & Noble and Borders wanting to expand their reach in this great land of literacy. (Too Bad, Harry Potter just wrapped up its insanely successful series.) Although, the residents from next door might be expanding their little empire on that part of the block to build a little park with benches and pigeon feeding stations.(End Satire)
The face of Manayunk-Roxborough is changing, let us hope that change is for the better.
